Experience
I am a tutor with an extensive background in mathematics. I have experience teaching students of all ages in basic mathematics and algebra. I am a teaching assistant for an undergraduate level statistics class, and I tutor mathematics, economics, and statistics. Other courses that I tutor include English, SAT Test preparation, essay editing, and business. My method of tutoring is based upon being a guide to my students, drawing out questions, and providing answers to lead the student to the solution themselves. I believe what is paramount to being a successful tutor is providing the right tools for academic development, not just providing the answers to course work. Independence in a learning environment can be difficult, and with the right guidance, I hope to provide students with a foundation of critical thinking skills, the ability to practically apply concepts, and the confidence to teach themselves. I received my Bachelor of Art in Economics from Rutgers University, where I graduated magna cum laude. I am currently pursuing a master's from Rutgers as well. When I am not in class or tutoring, I like to spend my free time playing board and video games, reading, writing, hiking, and geocaching.
